Wherever you are our hearts still beat as one
I hold you in my dreams each night
Until your task is done
Light after darkness my wondrous star
Our hopes and dreams, my heart and yours
Forever shining far
Light up the darkness my prince of peace
May the stars shine all around you
May your courage never cease

Wherever I am I will love you day by day
I will keep you safe cling on to faith
Along the dark, dark way
Wherever I am I hold on through the night
I will pray each day, a safe return,
will look now through the light

These are some photos that i found using google image searches researching my idea.

All of these photos symbolize war and fighting,

The painting of the poppies and a cross conveys the idea of death and injury in war but at the same time it is a beautiful image that gets the point across clearly.

The two photographs underneath it show show just how many people are effected by war and how many people never come back.

The red in most of these images symbolize the blood shed and injury's in war, the green could symbolize the need to camouflage in with the earth.

The painting at the top of this post only really has in it the two colors that symbolize the earth and blood shed and injury it also has black as the only other color in it which, in this case symbolizes death and loss. the fact that it is a painting i think shows closeness and emotion, it gives a very dark feeling to the picture more than if it was a photo which i think would have given a cold and distant feeling to it.

rememberance day in photos

These photos were all taken from the guardien article from the 13th November 2011

They all relate to what i want to do as one of the photos that i want to take will include poppies  so i looked for some of the ways that other photographers have included them in their work.

i like the way that they are quite simple photos and all have a strong theme that clearly runs through them so they are not over complicated.
